Talented tuggers proved they were in top form in an annual inter-house tug of war competition at Wisbech Grammar School today
In a contest watched by all the pupils at the senior school and Magdalene House Preparatory School, mixed teams drawn from the fifth and sixth form members of the school’s four houses pitched in to demonstrate their pulling power in the best of three heaves.
The honours went to Holmes house, with Sparks, Clarkson and Peckover following behind, and the points awarded will count towards the trophy for the overall house trophy, which is awarded at the end of the school year.
Head of houses Mr Tim Chapman said: “This year’s teams were much more highly trained and showed more technical ability than before. The event is always a great start to the house competition.”
