MARCH Maternity Home staff said goodbye to domestic assistant Rayner E Metcalfe at a special presentation in 1967.
Mrs Metcalfe, of Badgeney Road, March, was presented with a combined clock and bedside lamp, a boat-shaped vase and a bouquet.
A farewell dinner and social was held at the Hippodrome Cafe for family, friends and colleagues. Charles Goakes was in charge of the social activities.
It was the second celebration in a week for Mrs Metcalfe who had also celebrated her 60th birthday.
Matron, Miss M Woods, said it was the first retirement she had experienced in her 16 years at the maternity home.
