MAUREEN Wayman chaired the lastest meeting of the Homemakers Club and welcomed members. She then introduced the speaker, Mr Johnson, who gave an illustrated talk on more than 100 clematis which thrive in his garden. After questions he was thanked by Ms Wayman. While refreshments were served the draw took place. Winners were Brenda Timms, Jane Bedford, Lilian Heaton and Ann Hamilton. The competition winners, for a photograph of an unusual plant or flower, were Connie Holmes, Margaret Bishop and Jane Dunham. At the next meeting, on Wednesday May 31 in the Trinity Rooms (7.30pm), there will be a talk by Margaret Freston entitled The Kitchen Table.

New members are welcome. The club coach outing will take place on June 28, so there will be no meeting on that date.
