AT the Homemakers Club's October meeting chairman Marion Edwards welcomed 40 members and introduced guest speaker Julia Hayes, superintendent radiographer breast imaging at the Edith Cavell Hospital, Peterborough. She gave a talk about breast screening, explaining the importance of the service, and answered members' questions. She was thanked by the chairman who presented her with a cheque for £100 for the breast imaging service unit at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation.
Refreshments were served. Raffle winners were Maureen Mason, Joan Freshwater, Eunice Wordingham, Verna Cowling and Gweneth Parker.
At the next meeting, on November 29, the speaker will be Charles Pickering on memories of his time on the Royal Yacht.
