Homeowner gets permission to replace windows and door in Chatteris home connected to Grade II Listed building

An applicant has been given the green light to replace nine windows and one door in their Chatteris home, which is connected to a mid-19th century Grade II Listed building.
Fenland District Council has granted a certificate of lawful use for 10D East Park Street to replace the windows with double glazed windows.
The home dates from the late 1980s, but is built off the rear of buildings at the back of 10 East Park Street, a mid-19th century Grade II listed slate roofed house fronting the main road.
The works will not affect the “special interest” of the Grade II Listed building, the conservation officer said.
Conservation officer Katie McAndrew said: “The entire dwelling to which this work relates is a late 1980s build and has no architectural of historic merit in its own right.
“The windows and doors which are due to be replaced are not of any historic interest and no historic fabric will be lost if they are replaced.
“The proposals do not involve any works to 10 East Park Street which is the mid 19th century building which is recognized for its architectural and historic merits and is Grade II Listed.
“The works proposed would not affect the special interest of the listed building that is 10 East Park Street and can commence accordingly.”
