PUPILS at a Wisbech School were given a masterclass in responsible dog ownership by a Fenland Council environmental protection officer.
Dawn Sadler visited Ramnoth Junior School and gave talks to two classes last week about looking after pets, dogs in particular. She also explained the role of the council's dog warden.
The children were able to participate in the session as well as ask questions and talk about their own pets.
Ms Sadler, who visits local schools on a regular basis, said: "This is a very rewarding area of our work. The children are always attentive and ask really good questions about the council's dog warden services."
Councillor Peter Murphy, portfolio holder for Streets Ahead, said it was a prime example of the council working with the community.
"By going into schools and talking to the youngsters about serious issues in a fun way, we are getting our message across in a way they will understand and learn from," he added.
