RATS, mice, moles, wasps and flees - to householders they are pests but to young entrepreneur Daniel Allen they mean business.A desk job was never an option for 21-year-old Daniel who loves the outdoor life, and now he has set up his own pest control business with the help of a loan from the Prince's Trust. The former Cromwell Community College student completed a one-year course in game keeping before working in the Holme Fen area of Peterborough. It was his work in game keeping which introduced him to the world of pest control.Daniel said: "I really enjoyed game keeping but it was the money side of it which wasn't very good. I did a course in pest control and then went to the Prince's Trust to see if I could get a start-up loan. They thought it was a good idea and it all went through pretty quickly."Daniel, of Station Road, Manea, used the loan to buy equipment including rat and mice boxes and poisons."I will cover an area of 25-30 mile radius and my rates are really good. I think I will be dealing mainly with rats, mice, wasps and that kind of thing," said Daniel who has called his business D A Pest Control. "I just hope people will give me a chance. I will visit to sort out the problem and then do return visits to make sure it has worked."When he is not dealing with pests, Daniel's hobbies of fishing and shooting also keep him outdoors.- Daniel can be contacted on 07759875210.
