A small village Slimming World group has lost more than the equivalent of three adult male lions’ weight in just three months.

The impressive total by the Doddington group was noticed by head office staff who awarded them a prestigious silver award.

Diane Baldry the group’s consultant, said: “I am blown away by this amazing bunch of both ladies and gentlemen who work together so well to achieve fabulous results.

“So far this year they have lost 95st 5lbs

“When I opened the group last year I wondered if there were enough people to warrant another group but boy how wrong I was.

“Each Monday morning a group of like minded supportive people come together in the village hall to help each other lose weight.

“They find that by working together sharing recipes, ideas, plus offering support they are able to achieve fab weight losses.

“Words cant express how proud I am of them all.

“Receiving this award on their behalf is such an honour.”

She added that considering how small the village of Doddington it truly is an amazing place.

The mammoth group weight loss has been noticed by Slimming World’s Head Office at Alfreton in Derbyshire and they were this week awarded the prestigious Silver award.

This follows the evening group’s Gold Award in 2015 proving that even small villages can be outstanding.

“The group have only been together for 10 months,” Diane said.
