JACK Thomas, of the Hope Inn, won the individual championship of the Wisbech Dominoes League for the second successive year at Easingwood's Boro Cafe in May 1955.
Final stages in the individual and pairs competitions were played off, winners in the pairs event being W Horspole and A Futter of The George.
All 15 teams forming the league were represented by their respective house champions in both events.
Besides the individual trophies and pairs trophies there was an additional award up for competition which gave the not-so-strong teams a chance to be among the winners.

Eventual winners of this Merit Cup were from the Weary Traveller who were half a point ahead of the Hope. Winning the Merit Cup was consolation for the Weary Traveller, whose representatives were beaten in both the individual and pairs finals.
