JAZMIN Lewis has proved she is a cut above the rest by agreeing to donate her hair to a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost theirs through cancer treatment or alopecia.

The ten year old’s waist length hair will be chopped to a short bob and donated to the Little Princess Trust, a British charity that was set up in memory of a youngster who lost her battle to cancer.

Cavalry pupil Jazmin decided she wanted to help other children less fortunate than her and set up a Just Giving page to encourage people to donate money to the charity in preparation for her hair cut day on July 18.

On her donation page she says: “I am going to have my hair cut because I want to be able to share my hair with children who have lost theirs after having treatment for cancer.

“I don’t need all of it! It will be made into a wig for someone who does need it.”

The idea first took root when the youngster was chatting with her mum Aimee about how long her hair was and how sad it must be for children who lose theirs when they are ill.

Aimee said that after having the chat the pair went online to google charities which is when they found the Little Princess Trust, the charity to which pop star Jessie J donated her hair when she had her head shaved earlier this year.

Jazmin, who has already raised £240, said: “The money I raise for having my hair cut will go to help the good work which the Little Princess Trust do so please dig deep and donate now!”

Her hair will be cut by hairdresser Emily Butcher of Seven in Wisbech Road.
