A plea has been made for drivers so that a community car for people in Chatteris who have difficulty getting about can keep running.
The Joan Jumeau wheelchair adapted vehicle has helped countless people in the last 12 years but more volunteer drivers are needed to maintain the valuable service.
Barbara Kingman, Joan Jumeau co-ordinator, said: “We have reached a bit of a crisis, in as much we are desperate to recruit more volunteer drivers. This will allow us to keep our service running efficiently.
“Several of our dedicated team have had to retire for various reasons, however demand for this vehicle is growing and to many unfortunate people this vehicle is a lifeline.
“The vehicle can be driven by the wheelchair friends or family.”
