THE Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is cutting people on benefit by sending them back to work with bad backs and illnesses, just to reduce the statistics.

Your qualified doctor says you have a bad back, you are unable to work. Incapacibility is the issue.

So you fill in the IB50 form and attend the DWP doctor. A report written by the doctor makes your illness sound less than it is.

Then a decision maker, who has had no personal contact with you, decides on the DWP and your doctor's assessment and the IB50 form, and reports in the IB65 their justification for benefit refusal. The IB65 often has no reference to the IB50 or your doctor and his statement.

They simply make you think you are treated fairly. But they make the decision at the end of the day to their benefit. The IB50 is a formality and so is you doctor's statement - just a public relations stunt.
