FAST-FOOD chain KFC looks set to open its first restaurant in March.
The Kentucky-fried chicken company has submitted a planning application to open a restaurant and drive-through on land in Wisbech Road, March, next to the Cobblestones pub.
The site already has planning permission for retail units and 107 car parking spaces and a similar site for a KFC in Wisbech in 2009 received no objections.
A planning report to Fenland District Council found the site next to the A141 to be “suitable, viable and available” and construction could start immediately.
Various other locations in March were considered for the restaurant but none were found to be suitable.
