MORE than 700 knitted jerseys, as well as 54 cot blankets and five single bed blankets, have been handed to March Churches Together throughout their Feed the Children campaign.
The campaign was brought to a close with a coffee morning on Friday at the town's Trinity Church, in High Street.
Items have been received by the group from people in March, Peterborough, Wisbech and surrounding Fenland villages.
The coffee morning raised £272.12, which will go towards transporting the jerseys to countries in Africa, and Afghanistan in Asia, to help keep children warm at night.
The Rev Pam Bayliss, vicar at Trinity Church and chairman of Churches Together in March, said: "It was really well supported in the area by lots of people."
"So many people have been busily knitting that wool must be in short supply in this area.
