WHITTLESEY members of the Ladysmith WI took as their theme Ascot Ladies Day for their annual party at St Andrew's Hall.
Catherine Read, one of the officials, said: "This was rather poignant as the member who suggested this theme, Mrs Heather Brooks, died from cancer earlier this year. Everybody made an effort and there were some marvellous hats on show." A silver salver, in memory of Mrs Brooks, was presented to the winner of the best hat, Elizabeth Ollenbittle, by Mrs Brooks' mother.
