THE largest bulk cargo ever brought into Cambridgeshire arrived in the Port of Wisbech on Monday with 1,300 tonnes of phosphate from North Africa.
The consignment is for Law Fertilisers Ltd of Wimblington and will be supplied to farmers in Cambridgeshire and West Norfolk.
The company says that using Wisbech Port allows for a significant reduction in lorry movements that would be caused by using a more distant port.
