Get back to the drawing board, councillor, as you have obviously lost the plot. How can you, as the "bossman" allow two contradictory statements to be made in the same article (June 16). First of all that article says the current attempt at 'sell-off' is because of central government legislation. Then you say, allegedly, that it was due to "pressure from tenants". Make up your mind.
I would advise that I've asked Tim Mills, the officer in charge of housing, to provide written proof of the "pressure from tenants". At the time of writing, no response has been received.
Yesterday there was a cabinet meeting. At that meeting, I trust it would have been disclosed that our councillors are selling off part of our family silver for a mere £44million, which equates to about £11,000 per housing unit. I wish I could buy a one-bedroom flat in Fenland for £11,000.

At that meeting, I hope we were told how much of the £44million will end up in our coffers with a full breakdown.
Many tenants have said that all they hear is why they should vote 'yes' to sell off their homes. They do not hear the arguments against. Tenants will be subjected to the 'hard sell' by the sell-off brigade. As stated by Fenland Council or others in the June 16 article, "it is likely to be an aggressive and determined campaign . . ." and ". . . sit back and wait for the avalanche of invitations to meetings . . ."

There is an alternative viewpoint. Vote 'no'. We have affiliated to the national group, Defend Council Housing. And we are now known as DCH-Fenland.

You must vote this time. They have changed the rules. This time if only three people vote and two of them vote 'yes' and one 'no', then the ballot says you have "sold" your house to a private company and cannot return to the council as your landlord.
