LETTER: Coverage of drug driving is spot on

Thank you for your excellent news coverage of the road safety issue of drugged-driving. As Dr Robert DuPont has emphasised, it is infeasible to establish BAC equivalency for all illicit drugs and drugs of abuse.

Thus, your use of the legal term “under the influence of drugs” is spot on, vs “impaired by drugs”. It is both unnecessary and infeasible to prove impairment.

It is hoped that similar drugged-driving legislation will soon be enacted here in the United States. Thank you.
