A few words regarding my dismissal from Wisbech Town Council as of last week.

I feel disgusted at the way I have been treated. Just a formal email to tell me that I am no longer required, that a rule in place allows the council to put an end to my input to the council.

It is apparent that this has been thought through by the Conservatives who are in the majority, they have been counting the days, and as soon as the time was up, a by-election had already been called.

The fact that it will cost the rate payers £7,500 does not bother them.

Ever since my first appearance at the Town Hall it has been obvious that the Conservatives cannot and will not tolerate any other political party to have any influence within and over Wisbech.

They even made their own rules, so that only Conservatives can be chair of any committee.

This thinking is so blinkered, “that there will only be a decision made by a conservative”, immaterial to the fact that not every Conservative can be a master of all things, there are many other people in this world capable of constructive thoughts.

In debate at council there are always the “put downs” by the Conservatives.

The snide remarks that hardy ever get to be written in the minutes, that any idea put forward by other parties are “useless”.

It was not a Conservative idea for a speed limit reduction within our town, so consequently there are no signs to tell motorists to slow down, why? Because it did not come from the Conservatives!

Another set of words regarding my sacking.

Wilful, intentional, deliberate and performed with joy by the Conservatives.

Not one word on Sorrow, Sadness, or Empathy have been shown to come from them.

The local Conservatives are nothing like the people in our Tory Government, these locals have proven, they are nasty, vindictive and consumed by the thoughts that only “they” know how to run a town.

Well, from what I know and see, the “could do better” should be written into their copy books.

Ever since I was elected 18 months ago, the only concession I got from Wisbech Town Council was for a make shift plank that had to be changed for a portable metal ramp laid down when I was to attend a meeting.

None of the Conservatives have thought about the future and there will be other disabled members having the same problems, but the likes of councillors Tierney, Oliver and Hoy, only see as far as their nose.

That the building is unfit for its intended use and will have to have either a conversion, or a different venue has not entered their self-centred brains.

When next time you vote, please think very carefully who you vote for.
