In response to Hilary Bacon’s letter, entitled ‘A blot on the landscape’ and featured in your edition dated November 10, King’s Ely would like to inform your readers that the new boathouse at Fore Mill Wash on the River Great Ouse is in fact not being built by King’s Ely, and is not for the school either.
As the Ely Standard reported in May 2013, the project, which was approved by East Cambridgeshire District Council’s planning committee, subject to conditions, is for the Cambridge University Boat Club, not King’s Ely.
