May I reply to the letter from Graham McDonald in last week’s paper in respect of the Fenland Council conduct hearing? Can he please get his facts right.

The original poll resulted in a 3:3 result, with two of the members with voting rights and I as the independent person on the conduct committee upholding the complaint.

The rules which are set down by Government state that although the independent person has no voting rights the committee should be mindful of their views. In making his decision Councillor Fred Yeullet quite rightly took into account both my view and that of the independent investigator.
