It’s with great sadness I’ve read the recent letters regarding unaccompanied child refugees and asylum seekers.
Neither my children nor I have faced daily bombings, starvation, threats of rape, forced conscription and no health care, but if we had, I suspect we might look a bit older than our actual years.
When private companies in the UK make vast profits from selling the very arms that are the cause of such extreme suffering, where does the responsibility for the safety of those who are harmed lie? If, as an individual, you claim that the profits from selling weapons of war contribute towards the UK economy, then I suggest that responsibility lies with you as well as with the government.
