MARCH and Chatteris Lions Club joined their newest member Sylvia Mansfield when she cooked a five-course meal for members and partners. Because of the size of the club the event took place over two sittings, one on the Saturday evening and the next the following Sunday night. President Leon Hyde won first prize in the raffle, but nobody went away empty-handed as little party bags where distributed.
The event raised more than £300 for the Lions Belarus Trust, a Lions charity supporting the children and people of Chernobyl, 20 years after the nuclear disaster hit the region. This is just one of the many projects the club has supported over its 30 years.
