AROUND 2,000 years of loyal service were saluted when almost 100 members of staff from the Anglia Co-operative were rewarded for their long service.

Among the recipients of the awards was Mark Green, the manager of H E Bull funeral directors in Whittlesey, who has given 24 years service.

Chief executive John Chillcott and Harry Whitelock, chairman of the board of directors, greeted each member of staff before a celebratory lunch at the Cresset in Peterborough.

Members of staff with 20-25 years of service received certificates and vouchers, acknowledging their contribution to the company.

Mr Chillcott said: “It was a privilege to present the awards. All the recipients had completed over 20 years service, and are recognised as the bedrock of the company.”
