MEASURING out a quarter of sweets and giving the correct change from the till was no problem to this shopkeeper.Despite being blind for more than 40 years he ran a very successful confectioner's and tobacconist's shop in March. The former carpenter and joiner lost his sight through natural causes but was determined to lead a full and active life.He opened his shop in 1929, two years after losing his sight, and this picture was taken in 1968. At first he was helped by his sister and then later, after he married, by his wife. Can you name this remarkable man? Where was his shop? Were you a regular customer? When did the shop close?
