THERE was severe disruption on the A142 this morning (Tuesday) after an articulated lorry carrying 44 tonnes of macaroni overturned.
THERE was severe disruption on the A142 this morning (Tuesday) after an articulated lorry carrying 44 tonnes of macaroni overturned.
The incident occurred on the Witchford stretch of the busy main road at about 4.20am, causing police to close the Westbound Carriageway temporarily to allow the lorry to be recovered.
The driver of the lorry received minor injuries and was treated on site by ambulance crews.
Fluid leaking on to the road was investigated by highways officials but found to pose no threat.
A diversion through the village was put in place by officers at about 7.30am and is expected to remain in place for the next few hours.
