A HUGE clear-up operation is underway after a lorry shed about eight tonnes of shredded paper near a roundabout on the A47 near Wisbech.

The lorry shed its load at the roundabout at Walton Highway, near the Little Chef, at about 8.15pm yesterday.

A police spokesman said an estimated eight tonnes of paper was shed on the outside of the roundabout, leading on to the dual carriageway towards King’s Lynn.

Lifting equipment was called in to recover the lorry and begin the huge clear-up operation. Part of the roundabout has been cordoned off with cones.
