THERE was plenty to celebrate at the end of another successful season when Gorefield Utd footballers and their friends enjoyed the club's annual dinner at Easingwood's Borough Cafe, Wisbech, in 1955.
Though they were unable to pull off the Upwell League championship for the third successive season, there was still lots to celebrate. The team finished runners-up in the league and were successful in cup competitions.
