Lucky escape as man trapped in vehicle in ditch is safely rescued by Cambs fire fighters

Fire crews worked closely with paramedics to release a man trapped in a car that overturned in a Fenland ditch.

At 12.24 on Saturday one crew and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to the incident in North Bank, Flag Fen.

A fire service spokesman said: “One vehicle was overturned in a ditch and firefighters used specialist hydraulic and cutting equipment to release one casualty. “

Crews returned to their stations by 1.40pm

The spokesman said the man had been safely rescued.
