Lucky escape for Fenland mother and young daughter after car left teetering over 15ft ditch

A MOTHER and her young daughter had a lucky escape last night after their car left a Fenland road and ended up hanging over a 15ft ditch.

Fire crews from Whittlesey, Thorney and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe, were alerted to the incident by police at 10.14pm.

They arrived at the scene on Benwick Road to find both occupants were uninjured and had already exited the red Nissan Primera.

No other vehicle is believed to have been involved and it is unsure how the car left the road.

The situation was under control at 10.35pm and the vehicle had been recovered by 11.30pm.
