A man has been airlifted to hospital from the Fens today following an incident in which a bin lorry left the road and ended up in a ditch.

Magpas Helimedix flew to Crowland mid morning and assessed the man, in his 40s, with serious arm injuries.

“The Magpas team sedated the patient (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before working alongside fire and fescue services to help safely remove the man from the vehicle,” said a Magpas spokesman.

“The Helimedix then flew the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where on arrival he was in a stable condition.”

The collision happened in Nene Terrace Road.
