Can you help make dreams come true for the first summer prom at a centre for adults with learning disabilities.
The team at Facet are rolling out the red carpet for a fiesta of fun and looking for help from local people to make the event a night to remember.
A plea has gone out for prom dresses, jewels for tiara-making sessions and people who run luxury car hire services to step forward to help make the mid-week event a star studded occasion.
Facet manager Kris Harrold said: “The red carpet is being rolled out on Wednesday July 22 when we hold our first ever summer prom.
“We are bringing a fantastic opportunity, not only for the students which attend FACET, but also opening up the event to anyone else that would like to join us for what should be a night to remember.
“The event runs from 6pm to 10pm at the centre on Marwick Road and we want it to have a real glamour feel to it with a red carpet entrance, professional photographers, a DJ with a state of the art disco a bubble machine dance floor and confetti cannons.
“There will be a full licenced bar and a delicious hog roast which is included in the price of the ticket, so it really is the perfect night for anyone to come and join us at FACET and get a taste of some of the wonderful things we do here.
“I hope this event will prove so successful it will be something we can continue to run for many years to come.
“We are looking to totally transform the building into a world of glitz and glamour so of course any ideas, suggestions, or help from anyone would be so appreciated.”
As new manger of the centre Mr Harrold is going all out to promote and step up the activities on offer for the 137 students who attend, including a bid for £43,000 to build an outdoor gym and an invite to the public to browse the plants and garden furniture for sale there from Monday to Saturdays.
