A man has been arrested following a fight - where one man was stabbed - at a fast-food restaurant in Peterborough this morning (June 22).

Officers were called to a fight involving two men, one of which had a knife, at around 9am on Lincoln Road.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “This was reported at 9.05am as two men involved in a fight, with one having a knife, at a premises in Millfield, Peterborough.

“One man has been taken to Peterborough City Hospital with a serious but not life threatening injury.

“A man has been arrested and taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station. We would ask motorists to avoid the area because there is traffic disruption.”

At the time of the incident, Cambs Cops tweeted: “LincolnRoad Peterborough - Due to an ongoing police incident we are advising road users to avoid the area of Subway on Lincoln Road.”

An East of England Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 9.10am today (22nd June) to an incident in a subway on Lincoln Road, Peterborough.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and the Magpas Air Ambulance to the scene.

“They treated a man in his 20s at the scene and transferred him to hospital by land ambulance for further care.”

Stagecoach East tweeted: “Peterborough Service one in both directions delays due to an incident on the Lincoln Road.

“Please be patient folks while the emergency services deal with the incident . Thank you.”
