A MAN was arrested after a camper van containing cannabis plants was pulled out of a Fenland river.
Police were called to Thurlands Drove, Upwell, early this morning after reports that a vehicle had plunged into Well Creek. Officers arrived to find the van, containing plants and growing equipment, partly submerged.
Fire crews from King’s Lynn and Outwell helped pull the vehicle from the river and the van has now been seized by police for further examination.
No-one was injured in the incident but a police spokesman confirmed that a 37-year-old man remains in custody at King’s Lynn Police Station where he is being questioned in connection with the incident.
