A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at St Mary’s Church in Whittlesey earlier this month.

Ricky Lanigan, 31, of Orchid Close, Yaxley, has been charged with two counts of burglary in connection with break-ins at St Mary’s Church. He will appear in court next week.

On June 9, during the day, £100 was taken from the safe. Then, that evening, a stained glass window was smashed, although nothing more was taken.

The burglary was part of a spree of break-ins which included St Andrew’s Church, The Methodist/United Reformist Church and The Salvation Army shop, of High Causeway.
