A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of excess alcohol after his car left a Fenland road today.
Police and fire crews were called to the A605 between Goosetree and Coates at 2.17pm today after a car left the road and entered a ditch.
Firefighters from Whittlesey and Stanground and the rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe were sent to the scene after reports of smoke billowing from the vehicle.
A police spokesman said the man was the only occupant of the car “and has been arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of excess alcohol while driving”.
Recovery crews are on their way to the scene.
