A MAN who ran a shop in March will appear in court accused of fraud and attempted fraud.
John Whitcombe, 75, became a familiar face in the town for more than a year after taking over the former Edgoose shop in High Street and selling furniture and household appliances.
Now Whitcombe, 75, has been charged with eight counts of fraud and attempted fraud and will appear before Fenland magistrates on November 2.
Whitcombe, of Lyons Court, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, faces three counts of fraud, four of attempted fraud and one charge of forgery.
The charges relate to incidents which occurred between September 2009 and January of this year.
