Cats in hats, knights, princesses, cowboys and a smattering of Harry Potters sat down for classes at All Saints Academy in March today (Thursday).
The day started with pupils parading in their costumes worn to celebrate World Book Day.
Everyone joined in the spirit of the day choosing to attend school dressed as their favourite book characters, and staff got in on the act too.
The March school was just one of thousands nationwide to join in the fun and celebrate books and the joy of reading.
