TWO young members of March Brass 2000 had all their hard work rewarded, when they were declared the band’s players of the year.

Junior band member Cerys Pughsley, 11, was presented with a cup, and 15-year-old Jemima Letts, a member of the senior band, received a shield from band chairman Peter Sutterby.

Cerys is a pupil at Cavalry Primary School at March and has been a member of the junior band for the past 18 months. Jemima has been a member of March Brass 2000 for two years, and has been the second principal euphonium player for the last six months.

Jemima said: “Its fun playing in the band, and I enjoy the wide variety of music. It is a friendly environment that encourages me to play.”

March Brass 2000 is a family orientated, non-contesting band that welcomes experienced players. The band attends various functions throughout the year. The band is always looking for experienced players, instruments are provided.
