CADETS worked behind the scenes to make the 2010 Race for Life a success.
Air cadets from 1220 (March) Squadron supported the event at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough to help raise cash in the fight against cancer.
Male cadets handed out medals, water and goody bags to runners as they crossed the finish line whereas girls got their running shoes on to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Flight Lieutenant Kirsty Burnham, whose aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks before the race, said: “I always enjoy taking part and this year my reasons for doing so were even closer to home.
“It is enjoyable to stay and help for the whole of the race to cheer on all the participants as they finished and see their various emotions having completed the 5km route.”
The cadets, based in Gas Road, March, hope their joint effort will raise £500 for the charity.
