Two volunteer charity shop workers have been awarded for their 15 years of service.
March residents Betty Gray and Joyce Bedford received a certificate for their long service at the Sue Ryder charity shop in High Street.
Betty, who works there on Saturday afternoon, said: “I came into the shop one day and said that I was looking for something else to do and they said come and join us. I used to cover if the manager had the day off
“It’s nice to meet different people and you get to know lots of customers. You can have a laugh and joke with them. Some people just come in for a natter.”
Joyce added: “Working in a charity shop is a bit like being at a hairdressers - sometimes you hear people’s life history.
“We just treat everybody the same and go the extra mile.”
When asked for any funny memories, Joyce recalls someone coming back for his false teeth which he left in the changing room.
Carol Moore, sales supervisor and acting manager, added that the charity shop is always looking for more volunteers.
