‘We hope to have brought March Community Centre back into the heart of March’: More than £900 raised at charity concert
More than £900 has been raised during the March Community Centre’s family fun day and evening concert on Saturday, August 4.
Held at the centre on Station Road, the event was organised by community centre manager Michelle Naylor and Barbara Gowler of the national charity Scope.
A total of £945 was raised and was share equally between the March Community Centre and the charity, which has a store in the town centre, Scope.
A spokesman said: “We had more than 400 people visit us during the day which we were very pleased with considering the heat.
“It unfortunately meant Norfolk Owl Sanctuary could not join us. The event saw so many people pull together and was a real community effort.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all who came out and supported us, to the volunteers on the day and all the local businesses who contributed.”
There were around 45 different stalls, businesses and charities in attendance and evening concert music was provided by local artists Back Two and Jess Davies.
The spokesman added: “We hope to have raised awareness of Scope the charity and to have brought March Community Centre back into the heart of March.”
