MEMBERS of March Conservative Club celebrated Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar with a dinner and award evening on Saturday.

Inna Rassel was presented with a Shipmate of the Year plaque by last year’s holder Shipmate Linda Barry and Royal Naval Association (RNA) March branch president Bill Barry gave Shipmate Linda Craven a glass paperweight for her work on behalf of the RNA without any official recognition.

Terry Shad, chairman of the RNA March branch, welcomed the 80 guests before making a speech following the meal to celebrate the 206th anniversary of the naval battle. William Evans made the Loyal Toast with Royal Engineer’s Major Spence and the Middle Level Waterman’s Commodore Jeff Waters both making speeches.
