Archant

A convenience store owner has dug out his wallet to help one of the town’s boxing clubs.

Ellingham Avenue Convenience Store has donated £300 to Sparta ABC March, who are putting on their home show at the Neale-Wade Academy on November 15.

Two of the club’s young boxers work for the store as paperboys, so owner Jaz Jatana felt sponsoring the show was a fitting way to support them.

He said: “I’m a boxing fan and a couple of the boxers work for me as paperboys. It will be good to help them and going forward I’m going to sponsor every Sparta show. The kids need as much support as they can get.”

The Sparta show starts at 7pm. Tickets, which cost £10, are available from Gary at 07565 715498.
