A March couple is preparing to share their biggest ever spooky display to raise money for local charities this Halloween.
Tommy and Jo Kelly's Halloween display at 68A Wisbech Road, March
Tommy and Jo Kelly, of 68A Wisbech Road, March, are decorating their house once again, having done so for the past three years and after raising £297 for charity in 2015.
This year the couple is supporting Little Miracles, Fenland – a charity which supports families whose children have additional needs, disabilities or life-limiting conditions in the Fenland area.
Tommy Kelly said: “We are currently building new models to improve on previous year’s displays and plan to set up the attraction on October 22nd until November 5. “We will be recruiting friends and family who will all be dressed up in their spookiest outfits to welcome trick or treaters on Sunday October 30 and Monday 31 October. We hope to have a party atmosphere, and collect donations on those nights that will all go to Little Miracles, Fenland.
“We will also be offering visitors the opportunity to register for a best fancy dress competition on the trick or treat nights where we will take details of any participants, photograph them (run by members of March Camera Club) and our committee will then judge and award a £20 cash prize for the best boy and best girl outfits.
“The prizes for the fancy dress competition have been donated by the Clare and Wainwright families of Rhonda Park, Wimblington.
“We will also have hot dogs available that have been donated by Tesco, March Quality Meats and tombola with prizes donated by Boyes in March.
“We also plan to leave a secure donation box out during all the days that the display is ‘up’ so that any visitors that wish to donate can do so.
“We encourage and welcome them to enter the garden to take pictures of the models as has been done in previous years. We have had fantastic support this year from local businesses and organisations who have all helped or donated goods or vouchers that we have been able to use to make our display bigger and better and we also have huge stocks of goodies for our trick or treat visitors.
“Thanks go to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Boyes, March Quality Meats, March Camera Club, the Men of March pub and George’s pub.
The couple has also created a Halloween ‘map’ this year.
