Cricket players and scouts volunteered their time to give the March Cricket Club a make over.
Players of all ages pulled ranks to carry out a revamp of the ground.
Les Mills, club chairman, said: “A big thank you to Gavin Philpott and the 1st March Scout Group and club members who attended on the day to help out.
“Lots of jobs were completed on the day.”
The day was part of a country-wide initiative called the “Cricket Force Day” sponsored by NatWest bank.
More than 40 members, helped by the 1st March Scout Group, spent the day preparing the ground and it’s facilities for the start of the new season.
Various jobs were completed around the ground including three plastic covers placed on the three metal framework covers.
Tree branches and twigs removed from outfield and soil spread around to level the surface.
Score box and tool shed was spring cleaned, an inventory of kit store, several seats were painted and repaired and fencing around the ground repaired.
Boundary rope was put out and double bay nets were renovated for the new season.
Special thanks were given to Terry Hunt for supplying drinks throughout the day as well as arranging lunch for everyone.
