JANUARY may be described as the most miserable month of the year but try telling that to these happy hockey players from March.
While doom-merchants continue to tell us we’ll be suffering from after-Christmas blues, cold weather and expected budget cuts this photo paints a more positive image of the early stages of 2011 in Fenland.
So why were these four young men so pleased to see our photographer Brian Purdy at Neale-Wade’s astroturf pitch on a cold Saturday afternoon?
Because, they’d just thrashed Bourne 10-1 - a perfectly reasonable excuse for an early-year celebration if you ask us!
