A community group has donated £1,000 to a hospice which cared for one of their own.
Late March Lions member Mary Buckley spent several weeks at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough prior to her death.
The hospice is attempting to raise £6 million to build a 20 bed special unit.
The cheque was presented to regional Sue Ryder fundraiser Leigh Broughton at the Lions meeting on Tuesday.
Trevor Stockbridge, of March Lions, said: “Mary often remarked what dedicated staff they had at Thrope Hall and spoke of the excellent care she received.”
