A March man raised £600 for the Little Princess Trust by having his 12 inch ponytail cut off in aid of the charity.

Adrian Payne, 21, braved the shave at the Young People Littleport auction house.

He said: “This is the first time I’ve done any kind of large charity event, I would like to say a huge thank you to the YPL charity for helping me set it up.

“I did it because there are kids out there who just want hair because they’ve lost it through disease or cancer.

“They shouldn’t have to feel like an outsider because they have not got any hair.

“It’s accepted in adult life but for children from four to 18 it’s not accepted. It’s not understood.

“So I hope that my hair and the money we raised can go to giving a child a sense of normality.”

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
