March Pub’s Children in Need campaign raises £1,500

GEORGES’ four days of fundraising for Children in Need has raised an impressive £1,500.
The March pub organised a 48 hour cycle ride, a Pudsey themed Karaoke night and a zumba class for the charity.
The epic cycling challenge was completed at 5pm on Sunday to a rousing ovation.
Nigel Marsh, Georges’ landlord, was thrilled with the way the community got behind the charity ride.
He said: “People stopped, cars reversed and police cars tooted their support.
“In the middle of the night cars and lorries passed and honked their horns, fast food stores brought out drinks and food and young girls from March’s Party life stopped to get hugs from Pudsey.
“People simply passing by stopped and gave a hand while cyclists had toilet breaks.”
The landlord took to the stage to perform Riverdance on a glorious Friday night of entertainment at the pub.
People can find out more about George’s fundraising efforts at www.georges-march.co.uk and a collection bucket will remain at the pub for the coming week.
